Lots of people seem to have Covid at the moment. There is a new Covid variant KP.3, known as FLiRT
Three of my team at the charity FoodfortheBrain.org have had it, and it isn’t nice.
My strong advice is to keep your immunity strong, even during the summer months. How?

- Make sure your vitamin DWhat it does: Helps maintain strong and healthy bones by retaining calcium. Deficiency Signs: Joint pain or stiffness, backache, tooth decay, muscle cramps, hair loss…. blood level is at least above 75mmol/l if not closer to or above 100nmol/l. You can test yourself at foodforthebrain.org/tests. it takes 4 days to convert supplemental vitamin D into the active hormone so, while supplementing a weekly winter dose of 20,000iu (eg seven times 3,000iu) upon first symptoms will crank up your level in a few days, ideally you want to start fully loaded.
- Have either vitamin CWhat it does: Strengthens immune system – fights infections. Makes collagen, keeping bones, skin and joints firm and strong. Antioxidant, detoxifying pollutants and protecting against… (with zincWhat it does: Component of over 200 enzymes in the body, essential for growth, important for healing, controls hormones, aids ability to cope with stress… and elderberry) tablets or powder in stock at all times. Take 3 grams, or one scoop of my powder, upon first symptoms then 2 grams or tablets or half a scoop every two hours and don’t stop. Put a dose beside your bed to take in the middle of the night. (I have ginger juice on hand, or make ginger ice cubes as a good way to store it, plus Cherry Active, adding a shot of each to a warm drink with my vitamin C powder.
- Get some Allex – this contains vitamin C, quercetin and bromelain. Quercetin is a lung anti-inflammatory. a red onion contains 20mg but I want to achieve 1,500mg for two days, plus bromelain 400mg, a pineapple derived clot digesting enzyme. There’s also glutamine in there which helps protect lung and gut lining. Three twice a day for two days. This is the best if you are having as slow recovery, dropping to 2 x 2 after two days.
