Banana and berry frozen yoghurt

Ice-cream is fairly low GL, but high in fat and sugar. This is a brilliant alternative. It gets its sweetness from fruit and its creaminess from mashed banana and yoghurt. Absolutley fabulous!


Serves 2


1 small banana

300g (11oz) live natural yoghurt

4 heaped tbsp mixed berries, such as strawberries, raspberries, blackberries or blueberries (fresh, or frozen and defrosted)


  1. Mash the banana and place in a bowl with the yoghurt and berries, stirring them together.
  2. Tip into a plastic container, seal with a lid and place in the freezer for 2 hours to chill and harden. Mash up with a fork before serving to soften any ice crystals that have formed. If you leave it in the freezer for longer before serving, you should let it sit at room temperature for a while to soften before you try to mash it, as otherwise it will be very hard and icy.
